The students presented their work and networked with GIS practitioners from around the country including Fredonia GIS alumni.

Of the seven students, Zakkary Hess, a Geology major, presented his work with the City of Dunkirk Department of Public Works, “An Open Source GIS Solution to Integrating Municipal Drinking Water Systems.” Geology majors Brittany O'Brien and Kendra Silleman assisted with the, "Emerging GIS," Video Series funded by a grant to the N.Y.S. GIS Association from The Fund of The City of New York.

The New York State Geographic Information Systems Association represents the interests of the entire geospatial community within New York and is the premier statewide professional organization for GIS and related industries. For over 30 years geospatial professionals from throughout New York and surrounding regions have been gathering to network, share and discover the latest in GIS and related technology. The NYGeoCon provides an opportunity for professionals to obtain training, see timely presentations, attend workshops and find out what other professionals are doing.
