Lei Huang named AMA academic judge

Dr. Lei Huang

School of Business Professor Lei Huang has been named an academic judge on the Collegiate Chapters Council of the American Marketing Association (AMA), the largest and most comprehensive professional society for marketers.

Dr. Huang joins a slate of more than 100 academic judges, drawn from academia and industry from across the United States and Canada, who serve at competitions that recognize excellence and facilitate professional development. More than 1,000 students from the U.S. and Canada participate in the events that evaluate marketing strategy, case, website and chapter exhibits and also designate a Student Marketer of the Year.

Huang’s appointment will span two academic years, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.

A collegiate advisor of AMA since 2008, Huang coached the Fredonia team that reached the semifinals in the AMA’s Marketing Strategy Competition in 2013-2014. Huang also serves as a grant proposal assessor in the marketing division of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

The AMA consists of 76 professional chapters and 250 collegiate chapters and has nearly 45,000 members in 100 countries and 400 chapters throughout North America.
