Track trio earn national academic honors

United in competition, three Fredonia Blue Devil track and  field members are now united in their classroom achievement.

Brittany Feldman (Jamestown/Southwestern) and Laura Morrison (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield) of the women's team, and Collin Mulcahy (Batavia/Batavia) of the men's team have received All-Academic awards from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

All three competed in both NCAA Division III track & field championship meets in 2016. In addition, all three attained a grade-point averages of 3.30 or higher in order to earn inclusion on the USTFCCCA list.

Feldman finished seventh indoors and 11th outdoors in the women's 400-meter run. The seventh-place finish indoors earned her All-American status. A Liberal Arts major entering her junior year, she is the daughter of Jennifer and Michael Feldman.

Morrison, a 2016 graduate with a degree in Psychology, specialized in the 800 meters. She was 10th indoors and 14th outdoors at the two NCAA meets. She is the daughter of Nancy and Robert Morrison.

Also a 2016 graduate, Mulcahy became an All-American certificate recipient when he finished fifth in the indoor mile last March. He also finished 20th in the 1,500-meter run at the NCAA outdoor meet. The son of Pamela and Timothy Mulcahy has a degree in Education: Special Education. He has one season of cross country eligibility left.

In addition to their NCAA track appearances, Morrison and Mulcahy also ran in the NCAA cross country championship meet last November.
