Wind Ensemble to perform Oct. 8

The Fredonia Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Paula Holcomb, opens the school year with exciting music of the world that includes "Folk Song Suite," by English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, and "Symphony in B Flat Major," by Paul Hindemith from Germany, on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. in King Concert Hall.

"Symphony in Brass," by American Eric Ewazen, will be presented by graduate conducting student David Turken.

The musical tour will conclude with a celebration of a new era with Cuba through the passionate rhythms in “Cancion de Geste” by Leo Brouwer, a Cuban composer, conductor and guitarist.

The concert is free and open to the public.
