Swansinger sabbatical centers on Morocco and Girard

Dr. A. Jacqueline Swansinger of the Department of History is spending her sabbatical year writing up an article on language and Post-colonialism in modern Morocco to be included in an anthology organized by Dr. Xin Fan of the history department and colleagues.

Additionally, Dr. Swansinger is also developing a book proposal on Stephen Girard, an early American merchant and millionaire, through the transition from a mercantile Atlantic to a national economy in the new nation, and hopes to begin writing the book.
