Arnavut chairs international conference

Ziya Arnavut, professor and chair of the Department of Computer and Information sciences, chaired the 13th High-Capacity Networks and Emerging/Enabling Technologies (HONET) conference, held October 13-14 in Kyrenia, Cyprus.

The conference was organized by Cyprus International University from Cyprus and University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) and from the U.S., and technically sponsored by the Institute of Electric and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest professional association for advancement of technology.

More than 68 papers were submitted to the conference from several different countries, of which 33 were accepted for publication and will appear in the IEEE Xplore digital library. Basar Koc, a former Fredonia student, who is currently working for his Ph.D. at the University of Miami’s computer science department in Coral Gables, co-authored a paper with Dr. Arnavut. The HONET 2017 conference will be hosted in Jordan.
