Fredonia College Foundation seeks faculty, staff support of All-Campus Appeal

It’s that time of year again when Fredonia faculty and staff will begin receiving information in their campus mail on how to contribute to scholarships or to endowments that benefit their favorite departments and programs.

Through the annual All-Campus Appeal, the Fredonia College Foundation makes a special effort to draw in needed support from faculty and staff to help maintain and expand Fredonia’s excellence.

Employees will receive appeal materials in their campus mail very soon on how to contribute, either through payroll deduction or cash contribution. Beginning this year, faculty and staff will be able to make a payroll deduction online.

The All-Campus Appeal is coordinated with other fundraising activities of the Fredonia College Foundation, which reaches out to alumni, parents, businesses, foundations and emeritus faculty and staff, as well as the community at large, to support the university.

All faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the appeal effort through payroll deduction or with gifts of cash to the Fredonia College Foundation. Donors wishing to establish new endowments are encouraged to contact the foundation office at 673-3321.

“Each faculty and staff member has a unique Fredonia experience, but everyone is central to the university’s success,” stated President Virginia S. Horvath. “The need today is far more critical amid decreasing state support — now less than 12 percent of Fredonia’s consolidated operating budget. With nine of every 10 Fredonia students receiving some form of financial assistance, the need among our students is clear.”

#FREDLANTHROPY Day is coming

Faculty and staff can also be part of the excitement of Fredonia’s second Day of Giving/#FREDlanthropy Day, on Oct. 3. Stay tuned to your email, Fredonia's homepage, and social media accounts for further information.

The Fredonia College Foundation is a private, non-profit corporation that exists solely to support the university. Gifts to the foundation provide the necessary funds for scholarships and other initiatives such as library resources, equipment, exhibitions and performances that state resources can no longer support. The foundation was established in 1964 during the presidency of Oscar A. Lanford to encourage and accept private gifts and endowments from individuals and corporations in order to support Fredonia students, faculty and programs.
