‘Welcome Week’ events usher in spring semester

Students can warm up to the new semester at the spring edition of “Welcome Week,” five consecutive days of fun activities for students, faculty and staff, hosted by Spectrum Entertainment Board and sponsored by Student Association. All attractions are free and will be staged in the Williams Center and include:

• Open Mic Nite – Monday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m. Students are invited to perform music, poetry or other talent on the Tim Hortons stage; a coffee bar will be open and donuts provided.

• Psychic Fair – Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. Psychics will give short readings, to current students only, on a first come, first serve basis in the Multipurpose Room. A limited number of readings will be available.

• Movie Night – Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. “Daddy’s Home 2,” the Christmas comedy sequel with Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg reprising their roles, will be shown on the big screen in the Multipurpose Room. Popcorn will be provided. Students may bring a pillow and blanket.

• TV and Movie-Themed Trivia – Thursday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. Students can test their knowledge in this friendly competition at the Multipurpose Room. A well-stocked nacho bar will be available.

• Bingo – Friday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at Spectrum’s most popular event.
