Dr. Junaid Zubairi, professor of Computer Science at SUNY Fredonia, presented his innovative flight tracker system at Techstorm New York, the first national event of its kind specifically designed to match innovative university technologies with entrepreneurs and corporate representatives.

His project, protected under a provisional patent filed by the SUNY Technology Transfer Office, was one of 10 research projects from undergraduate SUNY campuses and the lone one from SUNY Fredonia. InnovateTech Ventures produced Techstorm April 18 at Binghamton University’s new engineering and sciences building.

The event featured technology presentations and a fast-paced matchmaking session, similar to a kind of speed-dating, for entrepreneurs and university representatives.

Techstorm was cosponsored by the University of Albany, University of Buffalo, Upstate Medical University, the Research Foundation of SUNY and host Binghamton University.
