Stroke/head injury support group sessions to resume this summer at Fredonia
The Henry C. Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders will offer two monthly support group meetings for stroke and head injury survivors and family members during the summer.
The meetings will be held on Tuesday, June 19 and July 17, from 3 to 4 p.m., in Thompson Hall Room E148.
A typical group meeting includes activities to help stroke and head injury survivors use compensatory strategies to improve communication skills and provides educational information, as well as an opportunity to socialize and share experiences. Light refreshments will be provided.
The Youngerman Center recognizes that there are individuals in the community whose insurance benefit for therapy has been exhausted but their hopes for improvement have not.
