Findley Lake, NY

The first report below, "Sources of Unwanted Nutrients at Findley Lake, NY," reviewed evidence for sources of nutrients in groundwater near Findley Lake, NY so that BMPs (best management practices) will have the greatest practical benefits in reducing nutrients in the lake. The Town of Mina, Findley Lake Watershed Foundation and the Chautauqua County Water Quality Task Force funded the project in hopes to improve the quality of Findley Lake both in the near future and the long run. The second report, "Preliminary Engineering Report: Findley Lake Sewerage Study," gives the results of a sewerage study conducted for portions of the Hamlet of Findley Lake in the Town of Mina, Chautauqua County, NY. Hill Engineering, Inc. was retained by the Chautauqua County Water Quality Task Force to complete this study.

Temperature Data Collection

With growing concerns of global warming at the forefront of public thought, temperature data collection for WaterNet sites in Chautauqua County, NY, was undertaken in order to create temperature profiles for groundwater and surface water sources that would allow comparison with data from future studies to determine if a warming trend is present.
