Why Fredonia?
By the time a new faculty member settles into academic life at SUNY Fredonia, he/she has probably been asked a dozen times, "Why Fredonia?". Repeatedly, the answers to this question involve mention of co-workers and students who enrich and challenge new faculty to "push the envelope" with regard to their teaching and scholarly activity.
The Professional Development Center provides new faculty with the services and support needed for each of them to thrive as a person and as a professional while at SUNY Fredonia. Beginning with New Faculty Orientation, the stage is set for delivering a comprehensive professional development program that helps introduce new faculty to the SUNY Fredonia culture as well as begin (or continue) the process of teaching and academic growth.
