The Second Annual:
How do you use

The Office of Academic Affairs, in partnership with The New York Times, is sponsoring a contest for the best idea for using The Times to engage students in learning. In 2009-10, The New York Times will again be available without charge to readers every weekday in Fenton Hall, the Williams Center, and University Commons.
Faculty are encouraged to submit, by November 16, 2009, a one-page description of writing assignments, creative assignments, debates, discussion groups, research projects, or other ways that you use the New York Times to enhance student learning in a course.
Faculty from the Professional Development Center Advisory Committee will recommend finalists and the winner to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the winner will receive a $250 prize from the NY Times.
The winner will be announced by December 4, 2009. The Professional Development Center will post brief descriptions of all submitted ideas, and the finalists' and winner's ideas will be shared with the campus.
