Friends of Reed Library invite all to annual dinner;
focus is on special collections and archives
The Friends of Reed Library is inviting members and non-members to
its annual dinner meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the White Inn in
Fredonia with a gathering at 6 p.m., and dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Guest speaker is Head of Archives and Special Collections at Reed
Library, Jeremy Linden, who will talk about the
library's unique historical resources. His talk is entitled, "Windows
to the Past, Doors to the Future." Dinners are $26. To make a
reservation (the deadline is Oct. 12), contact Gerda Morrissey at the library.
Students hope campus will be part of the
community "mingle" following the annual Fall Sweep
Kara Welch, co-chair of Fredonia's Third
Annual Fall Sweep and comptroller of the Applied Communications
Association, along with fellow student and co-chair Jeremy Steinkamp are issuing
a special invitation to Fredonia faculty and staff
regarding the Fall Sweep on Sunday, Nov. 4, from 10:30
a.m. until 2 p.m. "After raking leaves," Ms. Welch said,
"students, community members, and SUNY Fredonia faculty and staff are
invited to come to Cafe G in the Williams Center from 2 to 4
p.m. to mingle, enjoy refreshments, and listen to live music presented
by a Fredonia a cappella group. We strongly encourage you to
support this effort in anyway possible. This is a great opportunity to
support Fredonia students in their positive interactions with community
