Betty Gossett appointed to new position in university foundation

Betty Catania Gossett Betty Catania Gossett was recently named director of development for major and planned gifts at the State University of New York at Fredonia. The university conducted a national search to fill the position, which serves donors interested in making gifts of cash or through estates to the Fredonia College Foundation.
 
Ms. Gossett has worked for SUNY Fredonia since 2003 when she was appointed to the development staff as assistant director for special gifts. Prior to that, she was an administrator at the Chautauqua County Private Industry Council (P.I.C.), where she worked from 1987 to 2003. Ms. Gossett began her career in Chautauqua County government as a counselor in the office of employment and training, which later was incorporated as P.I.C.
 
A SUNY Fredonia graduate, Ms. Gossett is a past president of the Fredonia Alumni Association, and has also served as the alumni representative to the Fredonia College Foundation. She is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. A 2003 graduate of the CASE Summer Institute in Educational Fundraising, she is a 1976 graduate of SUNY Fredonia, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
 
Ms. Gossett and her husband, Jeffrey, live in Fredonia, N.Y., with their two daughters, Danielle and Alycia.
