SUNY Fredonia to host informational TESOL meeting
for interested teachers and grad students

Jan. 19, 2005

With support from a federal grant, qualified teachers and graduate students are currently being recruited for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) training programs at SUNY Fredonia. An informational session on tuition waivers and other assistance will be held on campus Thursday, Feb. 3 from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the College of Education Conference Room, W256 Thompson Hall. Light refreshments will be served.

Eligible TESOL candidates can receive partial tuition waivers, have textbook purchases reimbursed and write off expenses associated with TESOL-related projects. Funded through the Title III National Professional Development Program, the English Language Acquisition Project – known as Project ELA – helps to provide educational services to properly certify teachers in bilingual and English as Second Language (ESL) classrooms.

All interested teachers and graduate students are welcome to attend this informational meeting. Please direct any immediate questions to Project ELA Program Director Cynthia Jonsson at (716) 673-4726.
