Marvel Theatre

Based on the award-winning children’s novel by E.B. White, the play recounts the tale of a pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a barn spider named Charlotte. In an attempt to save Wilbur from becoming Christmas dinner, Charlotte begins writing messages praising the pig in her web above the pig sty. The plan works and soon “Zuckerman’s Famous Pig” is off to the fair.

Stricken with amnesia, a woman awakes each day to find her life a blank slate in this work by American playwright David Lindsay-Abaire. As her family struggles with the daily task of reacquainting her with the basic facts of her life, the woman is abducted by a man who claims to be her husband. Twists, turns and general mayhem then ensue.

This Greek tragedy by Sophocles is set a few years after the Trojan War. A king is murdered by his wife and her lover, sending his son into hiding. Years later, the son returns to seek revenge against his own mother and claim the throne with the aid of his sister, Electra.

The original production of Kiss Me, Kate ran for more than 1,000 performances on Broadway and earned the first-ever Tony Award for best musical, proving to be a comeback triumph for Cole Porter. Structured as a “play within a play,” tunes like So In Love and Too Darn Hot mix with comedy to create a rousing show as the heated relationship of the two main characters spills over to a stage production.
