Our website is a place where you can Find and share information. We have button designs, news articles, event ideas, and other information that can help anyone become involved in government. You can also voice your concerns and contribute your ideas on our Discussion Board. Talk about what's going on in the world and what can be done to change things. This site is a community of progressive people, where we can all help each other.

Our website is not merely a tool for the Fredonia Campus Greens, it is a tool for all of Western New York. This is your window to the internet, and an online resource for all progressive groups. I hope that it will help us all move forward and grow.

If you are looking for our weekly meeting time, contact info, executive board and other current information please read this article which is routinely updated by our current membership.

The main goals of the group are to incite political interest and involvement among students and to inform the general population of the injustices being carried out presently in the United States government. The group holds meetings Monday nights at 9 PM in room G140 of the Williams Center.

By having guest speakers, maintaining an ongoing weekly discussion as to the true state of the union, viewing informative documentaries, and maintaining a relationship with the other political groups on campus (college Republicans, college Democrats, and PSA the Political Science Association) we as the campus greens are trying to get our message out there in an urgent manner without putting down other group's beliefs or ideas, but offering alternative, more peaceful, and environmentally friendly solutions to a troubled world.

Fredonia is located in western New York State approximately 35 miles south west of Buffalo. There are many environmental concerns that the region needs to face in the coming years. The West Valley Nuclear waste site (30 miles south of Buffalo east of Fredonia) is a ticking bomb waiting to release high and low level nuclear waste into the regional water tables within the next century unless excavated. The high degree of pollution in Lake Erie has made recreational use a problem in some areas. Fredonia's geological location (at a lower elevation than the glacial escarpment) leaves it susceptible to ground water pollution. Some studies have found trace amounts of mercury in the drinking water in Fredonia. Few know or care about these local problems. It is our goal to follow the old saying "think globally act locally" by organizing events we are trying to communicate our concern and get some political movement from our efforts.
