| Brief bio Dr. John G. Baust is Lead Professor at the State University of New York at Binghamton and Director of the Institute of Biomedical Technology. He has also served President and CEO of BioLife Solutions, Inc. and Cryomedical Sciences, Inc. Dr. Baust, received his Ph.D. in Physiology from the Institute of Arctic Biology, University of Alaska and directs multidisciplinary research programs in cryomedicine including areas such as cancer biology, cell/tissue cryopreservation, hypothermic (low temperature) organ preservation, and tissue engineering at both the University and within the biotechnology industry. Dr. Baust is a member of the American Urological Association Best Practices Panel on Cryotherapy of Localized Prostate Cancer, is Editor-in Chief of the journal Cell Preservation Technology, Past President of the international Society for Cryobiology, U.S. Delegate to the International Institute of Refrigeration and Commission President , and has serves on the editorial boards of various journals. He has authored or co-authored more than 500 articles, chapters, patents and abstracts, served on numerous grant review panels and provides extensive consultant services to government and industry. In 2007 he co-edited the CRC text Advances in Biopreservation. |
