POLICY ON CHILDREN IN THE WORKPLACE
I. REASON FOR POLICY
The College values an atmosphere that achieves and maintains a healthy balance
between workplace obligations and parental responsibilities. Mindful
of our obligation to deliver efficient services to all constituencies, it
is necessary to recognize that frequent or extended presence of visitors
or family members during work hours is inappropriate.
II. POLICY STATEMENT
SUNY College at Fredonia does not permit the presence of minor children who
require direct supervision in the workplace in lieu of other childcare arrangements.
This policy applies to all campus buildings and all state vehicles.
Emergencies will be dealt with on an individual basis.
This policy is not intended to prohibit family members, minors, and dependents
from attending cultural or sporting events, or authorized use of the gymnasium
and pool facilities. This policy also does not prohibit visitors to
apartments of Residence Hall Directors, since their positions are "live-in"
positions.
III. AUTHORITY FOR POLICY
This policy is to be enforced by supervisors.
