COLLEGE SENATE PERSONNEL & STRUCTURE

Senators. Senators are elected proportionally: 1 senator per 20 constituents. The number of senators will be evenly distributed among the 3 areas: Arts & Humanities, Natural & Social Sciences and Education, Professional Staff.

Executive Committee. The executive committee consists of:

· Chair
· Vice-Chair
· Secretary
· Governance Officer
· University Senator

Budgetary Advisors. Budgetary Advisors are selected by the Executive Committee based on their expertise in fiscal matters. There are three advisors, one from each academic division and one from the professional staff. Budgetary Advisors report to the Executive Committee regularly and submit a formal report to the Senate at least once per annum. They serve as the Senate's liaison to the administration on budgetary matters.

Standing Committees. There are three standing committees dedicated toward policy development. The chair of each standing committee will receive course/load release. Standing committees appoint ad hoc subcommittees, as working committees on an as needed basis. The three standing committees are: Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Faculty & Professional Committee.

Academic Affairs - The Academic Affairs committee is responsible for policy development and oversight of all academic matters on campus such as curricula, and establishment and scrutiny of procedures for course and program changes. The Academic Affairs Committee serves as the Senate's liaison to the administration on Academic matters. This committee is an advisory board for the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Student Affairs - The Student Affairs committee is responsible for recommending policy on all matters on campus relating to student welfare. This committee is an advisory board for the Vice President of Student Affairs.

Faculty & Professional Committee - The Faculty & Professional committee is responsible for recommending policy on all matters on campus relating to the welfare of Faculty & Professional staff. This committee is an advisory board for the President of the College.

Sub-Committees. Subcommittees are working committees of standing committees. They report to the standing committee chair. Chairs of sub-committees meet regularly with the chair of the standing committee and submit two reports per semester to that committee. Ad hoc sub-committees are automatically dissolved upon completion of their assigned task. Any subcommittee that fails to meet regularly during the course of an academic year is automatically disbanded.
