The Victor A. And Corinne F. Rice Excellence Scholarship
The School of Business is the proud recipient of a new and prestigious scholarship provided by community leaders Victor A. and Corinne F. Rice of Buffalo, New York. The scholarship is in the amount of $10,000 to be awarded annually, renewable for four years, to a high school senior enrolling in the School of Business. An award of $10,000 for a fifth year will be made if the student majors in accounting. The student must maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and participate in the activities required of a business major. The awarding of the scholarship is competitive and will be made by a committee. In order to be considered for the scholarship, high school seniors who apply must do so by submitting the following by December 31, 2007:
- A cover letter expressing why you are interested in the Rice Excellence Scholarship and describing your career and personal goals upon graduation from SUNY Fredonia;
- A resume detailing your academic and personal achievements, community involvement and service, positions of leadership, and personal interests;
- Two letters of reference, one of which should be written by an individual in a position to speak to your leadership abilities and potential;
- A personal essay of no more than five pages discussing your connection to Western New York and your thoughts on the problems facing the region and their possible solutions.
