Daily Activities
Band: Each student will be assigned to the band, which will rehearse daily and perform on the final concert in King Concert Hall on Saturday.
Chamber Ensembles: Every student will be placed in a chamber group that will rehearse daily with coaching from the camp faculty. These groups will perform on the student chamber recital on Friday evening.
Jazz Ensemble: The jazz ensemble is open to students by audition. It will
rehearse daily and perform on the final concert in King Concert
Hall on Saturday.
Evening Concerts: Fredonia School of Music faculty ensembles will be featured in evening recitals. These ensembles include the Fredonia Woodwind Quintet, Fredonia Faculty Brass, Fredonia Percussion Ensemble and Fredonia Jazz Combo.
Musicianship Classes: Music theory, conducting, jazz improvisation and music technology classes will be offered. The music technology class be held in the School of Music's state-of-the-art computer instruction lab.
Master Classes: Master classes will be held daily for each instrument. Topics relevant to your instrument will be explored by the campus faculty, most of whom are faculty members at the Fredonia School of Music.
Private Lessons:
Campers may wish to arrange for a private lesson
with a studio teacher while at camp. Such opportunities would
depend on the availability of the
instructor. Arrangements should be made with the studio teacher
upon arrival.
Meals: Meals will be served in one of our campus dining facilities, and
camp meal planning is supervised by the Faculty Student
Association. Marketplace at Erie is an all-u-care to eat dining
facility that offers campers a variety of choices including
vegetarian and vegan choices. Commuting students may eat in the
dining hall by paying for the 17-meal package or purchasing
individual meals. Commuters are encouraged to participate in all the camp social activities.
Recreation: softball, frisbee, tennis, swimming, racquetball
