The SUNY Fredonia-Seneca Nation STEP Program's purpose is to assist historically under-represented and economically disadvantaged secondary school students to acquire the necessary skills to undertake collegiate study in scientific, technical, and health-related fields. STEP provides student-focused enrichment services and activities, such as:

  • A student group who attended a field study Tutoring in core subject areas, especially math and science
  • Library research skills
  • Academic and career counseling
  • Standardized Test (SAT/ACT) preparation
  • College visits
  • Cultural awareness activities
  • Recognition for student achievement
  • Academic competitions (Math/Science Bowl)
  • Field trips
