Hello, New Students!
The Office of First-Year and Transition (FYT) engages and assists new students in developing a foundation of best practices and
accountability for their academic and personal success at
Fredonia. We seek to connect first-year and transfer students to resources, tools, and information that promote positive social behaviors and academic
confidence. This office communicates directly with new students, parents, and the
campus community via email and social media about support services, special events,
campus policies, and university traditions.
Please contact Erin Mroczka, Director of FY&T Programs at (716)673-3271.
Priority Registration for Transfers
Newly accepted transfer students don't have to wait to schedule classes for the fall
2015 semester! Those students that deposit by March 30, 2015 can take advantage of
Fredonia's Priority Registration Program.
Priority Registration essentially moves a new transfer student to the front of the line to select classes
alongside currently enrolled students during this spring semester. Your schedule
will be created at the very same time as a student with equal credit hours.
Participating in priority registration is very simple and the benefits are huge. There are only two things you need to
- Pay your deposit by March 30, 2015
- Complete the Course Scheduling Survey when emailed to you
Once your schedule is built, you will receive a personalized email with instructions
on how to view your schedule and contact a faculty advisor directly to answer any
academic questions you may have. Should you need to make changes to your schedule,
you will have an opportunity to do so online with approval from your faculty contact
before May 15, 2015 or in person during orientation.
It means no waiting, no worrying, and no traveling to campus until orientation!
Fredonia's First 5 Steps
