Weather Update:

Residence halls will now remain open until 9 a.m. Sunday morning, and full food service will be available through Saturday night.

Students are strongly advised to not drive home until the  current lake-effect warning ends tomorrow afternoon. Most area roads are slippery, if not snow-covered, and a number of routes remain closed.  Saturday promises to bring a break in the weather, and your family's  Thanksgiving depends on your being there in one piece.

Charter buses scheduled to leave for New York City and points east at 5 p.m. on Friday will be delayed until 8 a.m. Saturday morning. Ticket holders should plan to arrive at the bus stop at 7:30 a.m. (30  minutes before departure) on Saturday morning.

The shuttle bus runs to the airport and train station  scheduled for Friday have been moved to Saturday as well. Buses  scheduled to depart at 6 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 2:30 p.m. on Friday will  now leave at those same times on Saturday. Since many airline and train  schedules have been cancelled or changed, students will have to contact  their carriers to determine the best times for connections. Students may ride any of the three buses to make their connections. We will also  extend the shuttle runs to the Buffalo bus station to assist students in making other travel connections to get home. The ticket office will be  open Friday to assist students in making travel arrangements.

Students should not try to get to the train station or  airport on their own. Many roads are closed and most trains and planes  have cancelled. The important thing is to stay safe and warm. This storm will pass in a day or so, and the residence halls and dining areas will be open for you to use until we can get you home safely. The residence  hall staff have activities planned in the halls for this evening.
