Conclusions
Through a close
analysis of the census' from 1910 and 1920, it can be seen how difficult
life was for the average Italian-American living in the Dunkirk/Fredonia
area at that time. The census' contain a wealth of information that
paint a pretty vivid picture of the Italian-American population and their
way of life. Hopefully, true insight has been given into, not only
simply where the Dunkirk/Fredonia Italians lived and worked, but also into
the quality of life these people enjoyed or in most cases endured during
the early twentieth century.
