Please elaborate
Academically?
Socially?
Personally? (i.e. self-confidence)
Boston College Elementary Education           The way it prepared me was to college classroom - setting - discussion & reading a lot.
Canisius College English     YES   YES Academically, I was prepared for the workload and knew how to manage time, a quality I feel I developed personally. Socially speaking, I feel the 3-1-3 program isolated me from others rather than help me to develop friendships.
JCC Math/Science YES It showed me that I could handle a full course load while playing a sport because I managed to keep my grades up in the 3-1-3 classes, high school advanced classes and playing sports. YES YES YES 3-13 helped me to be more prepared for college. I was not nervous about what to expect because I had already experienced college classes.
RIT Biomed Photographic Communications   By having the general ed classes done, I have decided to do a liberal arts minor in literature. YES YES YES Yes to all because switching to college full-time, I already knew the majority of the differences and I was prepared for them.
RIT New Media Design & Imaging   Though it did make it a bit easier for me to minor in literature when I had my core courses out of the way. YES YES YES While all the aforementioned traits are more affected by a person's personality and ability to adapt, it did help me to already know about the little quirks of college---dorm life, grading, class schedules...there were little things I didn't have to worry that allowed me to focus on school instead.
St. Bonaventure University Marketing   N/A YES YES YES 3-1-3 allowed me to gain knowledge about what a college class is all about, how to deal with professors and understand the workload.
SUNY Albany Business Administration   I took basic, general education requirements so these courses did not help in directing my major focus. Now that I am in college, full-time, I do feel the pressure of knowing what major I want soon, because I am one semester farther than most people my age. YES   YES Participating in 3-1-3 allowed me to see how I would do in a college setting and see different types of classrooms like a lecture hall. I found that I liked the setup of college classes better than those in high school and this allowed me to be confident in going away to school and doing well academically speaking.
SUNY Albany Business Administration & Psychology YES By doing 3-1-3 I am now allowed to choose a double major because I already have so many college credits. YES YES YES I feel that I am more confident in the classes and my ability to handle the atmosphere and workload of college.
SUNY Buffalo Pre-pharmacy     YES YES YES 3-13 introduced me to a larger workload than I was used to in high school which better prepared me for what was to come at UB (although that is also again significantly larger than Fredonia).
SUNY Fredonia GraphicDesign     YES   YES I know how the system works.
SUNY Fredonia Criminal Justice   N/A YES YES YES It's easier because you're used to it.
SUNY Fredonia Psychology   I didn't take any classes during 3-1-3 to influence me in my decision for a major. YES   YES 3-1-3 really helped prepare me for college. High school doesn't really prepare you for college. 3-1-3 gave me a taste of college, and got me prepared for going full time.
SUNY Fredonia Math Education YES The 3-1-3 program et me experience a law class that opened my eyes to the law profession not being for me. YES YES YES I basically felt that I have already gone through the college experience.
SUNY Fredonia Accounting     YES   YES I am more prepared academically because I have made a smoother transition from a 0-100 scale to a 0-4 GPA scale. Personally I am more prepared because I know how finals week is run.
SUNY Fredonia     I really didn’t take any classes in 3-1-3 that were subjects that I had never taken or experienced before. YES YES YES The classes I took in 3-1-3 prepared me for the expectations of college.
SUNY Fredonia (will be transfering to SUNY Geneseo Biology/Pre-med     YES   YES I didn’t feel prepared socially because I didn't talk to college students in my classes, only my friends.
SUNY Geneseo Psychology         YES I think I might be more self-confident in my classes.
SUNY Geneseo   YES It helped me rule out a few areas I don't want to continue studying YES YES YES I had a head start on all of the basics. I knew about registering for classes and how to budget my time and follow class syllabus.
SUNY Geneseo Music   Even though fredonia has an amazing music program, it was too close to home for me. YES   YES It gave me a taste for what college academics are like and made me confident that I was ready for this new chapter in my life.
SUNY Geneseo Geology, Chemistry YES With more core classes out of the way I was able to double major. YES YES YES When it came to all the studying and reading, I expected it and was used to it, where others complained and procrastinated.
University of Dayton Marketing   313 allowed me to be able to double major & still graduate on time. YES   YES
Univsity at Buffalo Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering     YES YES YES It has allowed me to already be used to styles of learning environments there are, and to know that not all teachers lecture with same style.
West Virginia University Athletic Training     YES YES YES I knew what type of work would be expected, and in general how classes worked. I also felt much more comfortable on my first day of classes because I didn't feel lost, scared or awkward.
Westminster College Broadcast Communication     YES     Only one of my 3-1-3 classes was really challenging mainly due to Dr. ____ lunacy
