Development Using the computer program DISCOVER, you can identify career possibilities and get information about occupations, including specific physical requirements. The career resources (books, magazines, videotapes, brochures) include career descriptions, personal skills and academic backgrounds required, salary ranges and a host of other information to assist you in your career planning. The resources also include employer directories, job search books and handouts (resumes, cover letters, search strategies, interviewing), graduate school directories and employer information. One of their shelves for special populations contains publications of particular interest for students with disabilities. They include: Americans With Disabilities Handbook; Job Strategies For People With Disabilities, a publication that includes sections on the ADA, career decision making and job search, and "Careers and the disAbled: The Career Magazine For People With Disabilities", published three times a year; Employment Guide For College Students With Disabilities; and Job-Hunting Tips For The So-Called Handicapped Or People Who Have Disabilities. Career counselors are available to discuss your personal concerns, help you explore opportunities, and develop and implement your career plans. Visit early and often and check out their web site at SUNY Fredonia Career Development Office Home Page. Student
