Don’t Just Survive, Thrive!

Department News

From Psychology:

There are several interesting and challenging opportunities available to experienced psychology majors with the appropriate background. Independent study, internship, and serving as a teaching assistant for psychology lab constitute three of these opportunities. Each requires a specific background or preparation. Typically, students should have completed psychological statistics and research methods before applying for these experiences. Contact the department office to find out more about who is supervising each of these activities and what the specific course requirements are.

From Mathematical Sciences:   Discover the Fishbowl!

Surrounded by faculty offices sits a centrally located study area that the students have named the Fishbowl. The Fishbowl contains tables, a blackboard, PCs, books, magazines, information brochures and memorabilia. This space serves as a gathering place for students for both academic and social pursuits. Whether meeting formally or informally, the Fishbowl is an ideal setting for the informal exchanges among students and faculty that have become an integral part of the Fredonia mathematics experience.

Faculty and Staff members nominate students for this honor! The committee is composed of Residence Hall Directors, faculty members, and student leaders from the Student Association. The STUDENT OF THE MONTH will be treated to lunch by the committee, will receive his or her name on a plaque, will get a biographical article and will have a photograph published on the Office of Residence website.
