Learning Center Tutors

CTS Tutors Ready and Eager to Work with You

HERE ARE SOME GREAT REASONS FOR BECOMING A CTS TUTOR:

  • Peer tutoring is a great way to broaden your understanding of your major.
  • CTS tutors are paid positions offering at least minimum wage.
  • You can schedule your own hours. Tutors work from two to ten hours per week.
  • Tutoring is done both in the Learning Center (drop-in tutees) and for the EDP, DSS, ESL and FOP programs (assigned tutees). All tutors agree to do both.
  • Tutoring is a terrific credential for both job hunting and graduate school aspirations.
  • Genuinely helping someone else is very satisfying.
  • CTS tutors receive training and opportunities for professional development . You'll enjoy being part of this special group of responsible and caring people.
  • Tutoring is a job where maturity counts. Tutors largely supervise themselves, help train new tutors, and contribute to the design and function of the programs.
  • Receiving increasing respect from both faculty and students is an important component of anyone's education.
  • Tutoring may not be an easy way to earn money, but it’s of the best things you can do for your own education.
  • Peer tutoring offers additional opportunities to tutor English as a second language and to tutor students with disabilities.
  • CTS tutors have an opportunity to become a Guided Study Session tutor in their first year and a Supplemental Instruction tutor in their second year.
