College Academic Integrity Policy

The DSS office adheres to college policy concerning cheating, plagiarism and collusion (see 2005-2007 SUNY Fredonia Catalog, pg. 212+).

Procedures regarding Cheating

If a student is found cheating or if there is evidence of cheating, the following actions will occur:

  • Exam will be stopped immediately
  • Faculty member will be notified immediately
  • All exam materials will be taken and turned over to faculty member or department chair for further action.

Students will not be allowed to take any books or papers into the testing rooms unless the instructor has provided a written notice of materials to be used while test taking. (Coats, backpacks and cell phones are also not allowed).

Students are not allowed to leave the testing rooms once the exam has begun and is in progress. If you feel you will need a break during the exam, make arrangements beforehand with the Coordinator for partial test administration. Students who leave the testing room without this arrangement run the risk of having their exam returned to the instructor immediately.
