Language of Instruction: English and Japanese

Housing: Students have the option of living on campus in residence halls or apartments and can explore housing options here.  If students select to live in the International House, they will live with other students from all over the world.  In most cases, furniture, etc. is provided but students may have to buy linens or mattresses for an additional fee.

Courses: Students may take Japanese Language Courses as part of their program, and can also take courses in English (the 2016 course schedule can be found here).  Note that students do not register for classes until their arrival in Niigata. 

Dates: 

  • Fall: (Semester 2): approx. September 15 - February 10
  • Spring (Semester 1): approx. April 1 - August 1

Eligible Participants: Students must have completed at least one full year at their home campus and be in good academic standing.

Application Deadlines:

  • Academic Year and Fall: March 1
  • Spring: October 15
