Jumping out from the palette of gray and white concrete and green grass on the SUNY Fredonia campus is a 12-foot tall sculpture of intertwining steel spirals painted in a radiant shade of red. The sculpture is entitled “Popeye” and it is the creation of Brooklyn-based artist John Clement. It is on display on Symphony Circle Rockefeller Arts Center as part of SUNY Fredonia’s “In Sight/On Site” project.
Approximately 40 students from area high schools participated in the fourth annual computer science competition held May 14 at SUNY Fredonia by the Department of Computer and Information Sciences. The contests were: programming, spreadsheet, web design, internet scavenger hunt and quiz show.
The second annual Blue Devils Athletics Golf Tournament will be staged Sunday, July 29, at Shorewood Country Club in Dunkirk, N.Y.Deadline for registration is July 21. The tournament is limited to the first 35 teams or 140 golfers. Entry forms are also available at the Athletics website (click on 2007 Golf Tournament, listed under "Other Links").
