The SUNY Fredonia School of Music presents a faculty recital featuring cellist Natasha Farny on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 4 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall.
The Musical Journeys Program of the Fredonia School of Music kicks off its seventh season of free concerts designed to appeal to very young children. The first concert will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22 in Darwin R. Barker Library, in Fredonia.
Watching the scenes unfold in Dale Johnson’s travel/adventure film “Lure of Alaska,” a viewer is left with the clear impression that this can be a land of extreme contrasts. From season to season and from mile to mile, things can change quickly in this frontier state. Johnson, an award-winning nature filmmaker, will personally present “Lure of Alaska” on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in King Concert Hall. It will be the opening event in the 2012-13 World Travel Series at Rockefeller Arts Center.

LehrerDance, an innovative contemporary dance company based in Buffalo, will perform in concert at SUNY Fredonia on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Marvel Theatre. The concert will follow a master class by the company. Lehrer Dance will be holding a guest artist residency in November, working with members of the Fredonia Dance Ensemble.
“On the hop: Paintings by Paul Ryan” will run through Sept. 26 in the Cathy and Jesse Marion Art Gallery.
Once again Spectrum Entertainment and the Student Association have teamed up to create Welcome Week, designed to help new students quickly feel at home and give returning students plenty of fun options to reconnect with friends. It all starts today with the showing of “The Avengers,” the American superhero film which has earned $1.48 billion since its April release. This annual “drive-in” movie night will be held under the stars on the Dods Hall Grove beginning at dusk (8:30 p.m.).
