All-Campus Appeal has begun

The Fredonia College Foundation invites faculty and staff to join in the success of “Nurturing Innovation: The Campaign for Fredonia” by participating in the All-Campus Appeal. Each year, members of the campus community show their support for their favorite programs, departments or existing scholarships through generous donations.

Fredonia adds former Cliffstar headquarters to enhance Start-Up NY appeal

The Fredonia College Foundation has been gifted the 25,000-square-foot office building that served as headquarters for the Cliffstar Corporation prior to its sale to The Cott Corporation in 2010. The facility, a gift of the Star Family, was formally appraised in late 2013 as having a value of $1.65 million. University officials hope it will greatly enhance Fredonia's appeal for potential Start-Up NY entrepreneurs.

Campus to host Veterans Remembrance Ceremony Friday

Campus and community citizens will gather in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room at the sixth annual Veterans Remembrance Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 8, at 3:30 p.m. “SUNY Fredonia truly holds a special regard for all veterans past and present,” said Provost Terry Brown, who will lead the ceremony which honors veterans, active duty military members and those that preceded them. Three students will receive scholarships at the event: Daniel Rowe, Brittany Toapha, and Erin Dorozynski.

Fredonia College Foundation seeks faculty and staff support of All-Campus Appeal

SUNY Fredonia faculty and staff will begin receiving information in their campus mail on how to contribute to scholarships, or to endowments that benefit their favorite departments and programs. The All-Campus Appeal is coordinated with other fundraising activities of the Fredonia College Foundation, which reaches out to alumni, parents, businesses, foundations and emeritus faculty and staff, as well as the community at large, to support the university.

Three receive Fredonia College Foundation's Distinguished Service Award

The Distinguished Service Award, the most prestigious honor given by the Fredonia College Foundation, was presented to three deserving honorees at a special dinner/dance held on Saturday, May 11. Honorees were the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, Education Professor Emeritus Dr. J. Brien Murphy, and Michael Schiavone, '78.

Masterworks Concert to support scholarships will feature Gershwin's beloved 'Rhapsody In Blue'

The Fredonia School of Music will present the fifth annual Masterworks Scholarship Benefit Concert on Sunday, April 28 at 4 p.m. in King Concert Hall. The Fredonia College Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. David Rudge, will be joined by the 100-plus voices of the Fredonia Masterworks Chorus.

M&T Bank donations support Technology Incubator and Keeper of Dream scholarships

M&T Bank is providing $75,000 over a five-year period to the SUNY Fredonia Technology Incubator to help cover general operating expenses and giving $20,000 to support of the Keeper of the Dream Scholarship program. The two gifts were arranged with the assistance of Josh Heim, vice president of Government Banking at M&T Bank’s headquarters in Buffalo; and Linda Niedbalski, vice president-branch manager of the M&T Bank office in Fredonia. The $75,000 incubator contribution is among the largest gifts ever made by M&T Bank to the Fredonia College Foundation.

Wednesday performance of "The Piano Lesson" will benefit Keeper of the Dream Scholarship

A special performance of “The Piano Lesson,” SUNY Fredonia’s first production featuring an all African-American student cast, will be held to benefit the "Keeper of the Dream Scholarship" and the Leadership Program at SUNY Fredonia. All tickets sold for the show on Wednesday, Dec. 5 will be donated to the scholarship program. All patrons of the performance will be invited to a pre-show reception with food and refreshments, and a post-show question and answer session with the cast.
