Liggins and Hildebrand received $6,305 to help support the development of a new course to be offered in Spring 2011, titled “Niagara’s Underground Railroad.” The course will include a two-credit segment offered in Spring 2011, and a one-credit option offered during May term, where students will visit Underground Railroad sites in western New York and southeastern Canada.
SUNY Fredonia Associate Professor Dr. Christina Jarvis has been awarded a $7,000 Leadership Grant from The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo (CFGB) to support three projects in her Spring course, “Writing, Sustainability and Social Change.” The ultimate goal of the projects--jointly undertaken with two community agencies-- is to have a direct impact on the lives of more than 5,000 Chautauqua County residents, she said.

Aaron Bueg’s prizewinning work will be presented at the Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators in Manhattan. The award ceremony and opening reception will take play Friday, May 7. His work will be exhibited May 5 through May 29 at the museum, and will also be featured in an annual catalog that is produced along with the exhibition.
