Buffalo community health advocate to address health inequity at campus talk

Myron Glick, M.D., whose Jericho Road Community Health Care Center has served low-income populations and refugees in Buffalo for more than 20 years, will share his unique insight in a talk, “Confronting Health Inequity: One Doctor’s Experience in Buffalo and Around the World,” on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

Fredonia to host Youngerman Center's annual Stroke Awareness Walk

The Stroke Awareness Walk, an annual event held at Fredonia and dedicated to provide education on stroke prevention and introduce services available at the campus’ Henry C. Youngerman Center for Communications Disorders, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m.

Fredonia-TimberFish agreement forging new ecotechnology to raise seafood

Fredonia has established a comprehensive affiliation with TimberFish Technologies, a startup pioneering an ecotechnology to produce seafood from plant materials and nutrients that has the potential to alleviate severe problems that threaten the global seafood industry. Under a memorandum of understanding, developed with Fredonia’s Engagement and Economic Development division, the university has been designated as a primary academic affiliate for the company.

Original Crunch Roll Factory becomes Fredonia’s inaugural Startup NY partner

The first company to begin operations in Chautauqua County through Fredonia’s StartUp NY program has helped to write a “blueprint” for creating new jobs through public-private partnerships. Attracting Original Crunch Roll Factory LLC through the Fredonia StartUp NY program is a huge win for the company, the university and the region, said Vice President of Engagement and Economic Development Kevin Kearns.

Faculty and staff honored by the SUNY Chancellor

Six faculty and staff at the State University of New York at Fredonia have been honored with the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence, including Kimberly S. Mancino, Dr. Junaid Ahmed Zubairi, Daniel M. Tramuta, Lisa N. Melohusky, Dr. Bruce Neal Simon and Lori Johnson.
