Fredonia Technology Incubator to host Aspire art exhibit; opening reception set

The opening reception for Aspire’s iXpress, an exhibition of art created by children and adults who have developmental disabilities, will be held at the Fredonia Technology Incubator on Tuesday, July 18, from 4 to 6 p.m. Area residents are invited to share in the joy of artistic creation through displays of colorful collages, pastels, acrylic paintings, drawings and a weaving that express the artists’ struggles, joys and dreams.

College Symphony Orchestra to perform at NYSSMA Winter Conference

The Fredonia College Symphony Orchestra (CSO), under the direction of Dr. David Rudge, has been invited to perform at the opening concert of the 2017 New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Winter Conference on Thursday, Nov. 30, at the Rochester (N.Y.) Convention Center.

‘Piano Day’ to offer introductory lessons to benefit Fredonia Student Keyboard Association

The School of Music’s inaugural Piano Day sponsored by the Fredonia Student Keyboard Association, will be held on Sunday, Nov. 12, in Mason Hall. Piano Area faculty and students will conduct introductory lessons for aspiring musicians who want to take their first step towards mastering the keyboard. Lessons lasting 30 minutes can be purchased for $15.

Art gallery exhibition features works by six Fredonia students

Works by six graduating art majors will be on display in the Cathy and Jesse Marion Art Gallery from Dec. 1 to 7. The Department of Visual Arts and New Media and the gallery are presenting the fall senior exhibition, titled “OFF TRACK.” It opens with a reception on Friday, Dec. 1 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Seneca Nation art exhibition opens at Fredonia Technology Incubator

Creativity, craftsmanship and heroism of the Seneca Nation will be celebrated in “Onöndowa’ga: People of the Great Hill,” a new exhibition at the Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk, that will be unveiled on Monday, Oct. 23. Area residents will have an opportunity to meet the artists at an opening reception in the incubator’s gallery on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
