The topic “Responding to Climate Change: Reality, Action and Hope” will be addressed by James D’Aloisio, a structural and building envelope engineer and an Al Gore-trained climate reality presenter who considers himself a “conditional optimist,” in a Convocation Series talk on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m., in the Science Center’s Kelly Family Auditorium.
Activist and advocate Cameron Kasky will be the 2019-2020 Maytum Convocation Lecturer and Williams Visiting Professor. His presentation, “Be the Change: Tools for a Movement” will be given in King Concert Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 3 p.m. The first in an annual series of events, Mr. Kasky’s presentation will highlight the 2019-2020 Convocation theme, “Be the Change.”
The 1984 comedy film “Revenge of the Nerds” will be shown as part of the Convocation film series “Ivory Tower Misfits: Images of Higher Education and College Professors in Hollywood Films” on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 7.30 p.m., in the Williams Center Room S204.
“The Paper Chase,” a movie that some critics say defined a generation and yet remains relevant four decades after its release, will be presented at Fredonia as part of the year-long Convocation series “The Search for Justice” on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m.
Fredonia will welcome back alumnus and former U.S. Ambassador James B. Foley for a Writers@Work residency and series of events, Nov. 8-10, which is co-sponsored by the Fredonia Convocation series.
