Journal publishes cancer research paper by Biology professor, student

“Neutrophils and Neutrophil Extracellular Traps in Cancer: Promising Targets for Engineered Nanomaterials,” a research paper written by Dr. Emeka Okeke, senior Biochemistry major Caitlin Snyder, of Utica, and two researchers, has been published in the journal Drug Delivery and Translational Research.

Alumni panel to discuss careers in biotechnology

The departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Biology will present “Careers in Biotechnology and Drug Discovery,” a panel discussion with Drs. Jason Gestwicki, Jeffery Kelly and H. Michael Petrassi, at the Kelly Family Auditorium, Science Center Room 105, on Friday, May 12.

SUNY Fredonia faculty members Rebecca Cuthbert and John Stone have been selected as recipients of the 2023 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching, a system-wide honor that recognizes consistently superior teaching at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.

Dr. Michael Marletta, a ’73 SUNY Fredonia graduate and Professor of Chemistry and Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of California, Berkeley, will give a presentation, “The Path from Making a Biofuel to Rice Blast Disease,” at the Science Center’s Kelly Family Auditorium Room 105 on Thursday, May 4, at 5 p.m.
