‘Global Majority Men in Dance’ residency set
The Department of Theatre and Dance will host a week-long residency, “Global Majority Men in Dance,” conducted by guest artists and Williams Visiting Professors Alfonso Cervera and Irvin Gonzalez during the week of Feb. 21.

Jennifer Cody, a veteran of Broadway, film and television who earned a B.F.A. in Acting at SUNY Fredonia in 1991, has returned to campus as choreographer of “The Wild Party,” the first show of the 2021-2022 Walter Gloor Mainstage Season.

The Fredonia Dance Ensemble will perform four works in a virtual format as part of the Department of Theatre and Dance’s 2020-21 Walter Gloor Mainstage Series. The spring performance of the ensemble will be prerecorded works shown through a live hosted online event.

Carl Cofield, associate artistic director for The Classical Theatre of Harlem, an award-winning director, actor and lecturer at Yale and Columbia universities, gave a virtual master class that focused on heightened language and styles to eight B.F.A. students at Fredonia in February.
Fredonia Dance Ensemble presents virtual version of Merrins Chamber Series
When COVID-19 became a global pandemic in early 2020, the Dance faculty of the Department of Theatre and Dance at Fredonia promptly decided all Dance performances would be virtual for the academic year of 2020-21. The upcoming concert will feature four pieces created and filmed separately in advance and then brought together in a comprehensive format for viewing on the above dates.
Dance, Theatrical Production Programs accepting applications
Applications are being accepted from students within Fredonia as well as prospective students looking to transfer from other universities or community colleges who are interested in enrolling in the B.F.A. Dance or B.F.A. Theatrical Production and Design programs.
