Josh Walters and Nick Abdo finished 1-2 in the 800m dash, and Chris Gualtieri took first in the pole vault for the Fredonia State men's track and field team at the UB Spring Opener on Friday. The 4x400 relay team turned in a second-place finish.
An RBI ground out in the bottom of the eighth inning proved to be be the winning run as the Devils defeated Oneonta, 5-4, on Monday. Kenny Ynoa picked up his second win of the season in relief, and Nate O'Brochta got final two outs for the save. The Devils dropped the nightcap, 17-0.
The Fredonia State softball team swept Oswego by scores of 5-1 and 4-3 on Monday. Emily Chelius earned wins in both games, and launched her second home run of the season in Game 1. The Devils are off to a 3-1 start in the conference.
After Cortland connected on a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give them a 3-2 lead, Emily Chelius stepped to the plate in the bottom of the seventh with one on and delivered. She hit a no-doubter home run down the leftfield line to give the Devils the walk-off win.

The Fredonia State baseball team dropped Game 3 of its season-opening SUNYAC series to Brockport, 10-2. Tyler Phillips led the Devils with a pair of hits, including a triple, and an RBI.
The Fredonia State women's lacrosse team dropped a 19-4 game at Oswego on March 26. Tied 2-2 in the first quarter, Oswego would run off 10 straight scores to take a commanding lead.
Fredonia State finished the Florida portion of its schedule with two wins and a loss Friday at The Spring Games. The Blue Devils (3-11) defeated Wooster 10-3 and St. Scholastica 10-2 in six innings at the Sleepy Hollow Complex in Leesburg, Fla. Their long day ended with a 9-1 six-inning loss to Carthage at Hancock Park in Clermont.
After dropping Game 1 to St. Lawrence 15-4, senior pitcher Kevin Mahon picked up his third win of the spring, tossing a five-hitter in a 7-3 victory in Game 2. Mahon walked one and struck out eight.
