Peter Howlett, a senior Psychology major from Brockport who has immersed himself in research work and other activities in the Department of Psychology, has been named the Honors Program Student of the Month for October.
Justine Bloom, a sophomore from Bergen majoring in Earth Science, with a minor in Environmental Studies, has received the Honors Student of the Month Award for September, co-sponsored by the Fredonia Honors Program and the Office of Residence Life.
“Opening Doors,” a campus-wide program featuring leadership stories and strategies offered by campus and student leaders, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., in the Science Center’s Kelly Family Auditorium.
Emilee Stenson, a senior Molecular Genetics major and Chemistry and English double minor, from Attica, has been named the Honors Student of the Month for April.
Jessica Schimek, a senior receiving concurrent degrees in Visual Arts and New Media (B.A.) and Chemistry (B.S.), from Smithtown, has been named the Honors Student of the Month for May.
A virtual talk that focuses on how empathy can be one of the more sought-after traits when it comes to employers searching for new hires, will be presented by Dr. Irina Filonova on April 28 at 6 p.m.
Lauren Cullinan, a senior Biology major from Clarence, has been named the Honors Student of the Month for March.
Rebekah Denz, who earned a B.A. in History in 2019, will present, “Leadership through the Eyes of a Young Professional,” a virtual discussion that describes her transition from a student leader to the youngest and least experienced staff member in the White House Office of Records Management, on Friday, March 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Ariel Davis, a senior from Lockport, has been named the Honors Student of the Month for February.
Jonathan Kobrinsky, a senior Music Education major from Port Washington on Long Island, has been named the Honors Student of the Month for October. Mr. Kobrinsky has made significant contributions to the Honors Program, his major and the campus.
