HAIL! Records hosted their annual Mardi Gras event, Parti Gras, on February 20th, 2020 in Fredonia, NY.  This event consisted of games, a pool tournament, and live music from the Augie Bates Trio and Marmalade Joe. All proceeds generated would help HAIL! Records to put on their annual spring dog walk event, Lend a Paw for Autism, which benefits the Institute for Autism at Canisius College.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, HAIL! Fredonia Records decided to continue raising funds for the Institute for Autism Research at Canisius College by hosting an online virtual dog walk event.  This took place during the Spring of 2020 and some HAIL! Students decided to perform on live-streamed shows, as well as post fun statuses to encourage the community to donate.  Community members participated by posting pictures and videos of their dogs “lending a paw” for our fundraising event.

On October 19th, 2019, HAIL! Fredonia Records hosted a fundraising event on SUNY Fredonia’s campus to benefit Mercedes Wilson’s organization, For Our Daughters Inc.a WNY based organization whose mission is to educate young women on their own health and wellness. They held a screening of the film “Killer Rack”, a feminist horror-comedy featuring a score by Fredonia’s own Armand Petri. The event included raffle baskets, a costume contest, and a Q&A with the writer, director, and actors of the film. The event raised a total of $200 for For Our Daughters Inc.

For Our Daughters Inc. hosted their 8th Annual Gala to support breast cancer on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Buffalo, NY. For Our Daughters, Inc. was founded by Mercedes Wilson in 2012 after she was diagnosed with breast cancer at twenty-eight years old. Wilson decided to give back to young women in her community by giving them the tools needed to encourage longevity and healthier living. The theme for this year’s event was “Roaring Twenties”, and included a three-course meal, a 50/50 raffle, an open bar, cash prizes for the most creative attire, basket auctions, music, and more! All proceeds generated went towards the For Our Daughters Inc.

Rock N' Bowl (2019)rocknbowl

On Sunday, December 8th, 2019, HAIL! Fredonia Records hosted a holiday bowling event called “Rock N’ Bowl” at Lucky Lanes. The event was a great success, with an attendance of over 80 people. This event featured two hours of bowling (including shoes), live music, raffle baskets donated by the community, and an ugly Christmas sweater contest. All proceeds generated from ticket sales would help HAIL! Records to put on their annual spring dog walk event, Lend a Paw for Autism, which benefits the Institute for Autism at Canisius College.

On February 13th, 2018 HAIL! Fredonia Records hosted Parti Gras at EBC West, to celebrate the popular jazz/bead themed Louisiana holiday, Mardis Gras. Parti Gras featured performances by the Fredonia Jazz Ensemble, Fredonia Big Band, and the Merlin Trio.

Lend A Paw For Autism: Star Paws (2018) starpawsposter

On April 22, 2018 HAIL! Fredonia Records hosted “Star Paws: Lend a Paw for Autism” on SUNY Fredonia’s campus, raising over $4,500 towards the Institute of Autism Research at Canisius College. Over 1.5 million people engaged in our social media posts including Mark Hamill (famously known as Luke Skywalker) and over 500 people came and participated in our event! Hope For The Holidays (2017) hopefortheholidays

On December 2, 2017, HAIL! Fredonia Records partnered with Destination Imagination to host “Hope for the Holidays”, a spaghetti dinner at the Fredonian Masonic Lodge. This dinner featured guest appearances from Anna and Elsa from Disney’s “Frozen”, as well as live music, food, and crafts. All proceeds raised were donated towards “One America Appeal”.

Arctic Song (2016)

On November 16, 2016, HAIL! Fredonia Records teamed up with Grammy Award-winning artist, Denny Laine, for the U.S. premiere of material from his original musical entitled "Arctic Song". Denny Laine is an original member of the Moody Blues as well as a guitarist in Paul McCartney’s band, Wings. Arctic Song is a musical centered around the issue of global warming and environmental awareness, presented through the daring tale of an adventure between an extraterrestrial being and a Siberian environmentalist. The event consisted of Denny performing the entirety of Arctic Song, consisting of 16 songs, alongside Fredonia students, faculty, and other members of the local music community. Prior to the start of the show, students hosted an Arctic Song memorabilia raffle and had a limited quantity of collector’s edition Arctic Song storybooks for sale.

Artists for Autism (2016)Goo Goo Dolls Poster

Our Music Industry program mainly works with two charities, Why Hunger and the Institute for Autism Research. "Not So Different" was written by Ladies First artist, Cassandra Kubinski. The song strives to empower those living with Autism Spectrum Disorder and assures the world that we can come together - we're not so different. All proceeds from the physical CD release and digital downloads are donated to the Institute of Autism Research at Canisius College. Cassandra Kubinski and Mary Ramsey of 10,000 Maniacs accompanied by John Rzeznik, of the Goo Goo Dolls, performed at Rockwell Hall for the event Artists for Autism; a benefit concert that continued to bring awareness to those living with Autism Spectrum Disorder and raised $30,000 for the Institute of Autism Research.

On October 23rd, the Music Industry program welcomed pioneering British rock guitarists Denny Laine, Joey Molland, and Terry Sylvester, to a performance and discussion in Rosch Recital Hall. Laine was a member of both “The Moody Blues” and “Wings;” Sylvester was a member of “The Hollies;” and Molland, who made his second appearance on campus, is the last surviving member of “Badfinger.” The trio discussed their respective histories and exploits in the music industry in an informal gathering organized by Fredonia’s Music Industry program.

In February of 2014, HAIL! Fredonia Records and not-for-profit musician collective, Ladies First, partnered with not-for-profit charity Melina’s White Light of Western New York to add in the fight against childhood cancer which consisted of arts and crafts, open mic, and live performances. Melina’s White Light was formed to bring attention to neuroblastoma and to raise funds to support ongoing cancer research. It honors Melina Riniolo, who was diagnosed with a tumor in her left adrenal gland in 2004 when she was 8 years old. 

The free event featured an acoustic performance by “Ladies First,” a Hail! Fredonia Record Label artist. Members included SUNY Fredonia junior Savannah King, Tina Marie Williams, a HAIL! Fredonia Records artist, and Grace Stumburg, and Mary Ramsey of 10,000 Maniacs. Money raised by downloading Ladies First’s original song, “Believe in Angels,” was donated to the charity.
