Are you curious about life?

Do you wonder how or why something is happening in nature?

An examination of life requires the study of biology, which in turn leads to a greater understanding of ourselves and the world in which we live.  Biologists have made enormous strides in the understanding of cellular and molecular processes, the structure and function of animals, plants and microorganisms, and the diversity of life.  The more we learn about life, the more we stand in awe of its complexities.  This knowledge is not only fascinating, it is vitally important to the well-being of the earth and its inhabitants.  We will need to press on in the study of biology if we are to understand and solve the problems of emerging infectious diseases, AIDS,  endangered or invasive species, bioterrorism, or habitat destruction.
