2005 Quintet camp participants

The Fredonia Woodwind Quintet Camp is open to students grades 9-12 (or that will be entering grade 9 the following fall, or leaving grade 12 the spring before), and includes the instruments Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, and Horn. The Quintet Camp is a friendly and relaxed setting for musical growth through the performance and study of chamber music. We are committed to maintaining balanced instrumentation and a modest overall enrollment to ensure that each student has a substantial amount of instruction by SUNY Fredonia faculty. Coaching by outstanding professional performers and teachers will offer you unique opportunities for learning and for building new friendships. We hope you can join us!

Camp Philosophy

The goal of the Fredonia Woodwind Quintet Camp is that all participants learn through playing chamber music to become increasingly independent, and yet work cooperatively with others to achieve a convincing musical performance. We also seek to create a supportive and enjoyable environment to advance the musical and personal growth of young musicians.
