ADMISSIONS INFORMATION
A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required to be considered, with higher GPA requirements for certain certificate programs and majors. A minimum GPA of 2.75 is required for students seeking admission to Education or Communications programs. Communication Disorders and Sciences requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 and Social Work begins consideration at 2.5.
We also consider high school grades and SAT/ACT scores for students who present less than 30 credit hours of college study.
A maximum of 75 credits can be applied to your degree at Fredonia.
Students entering Fredonia with their SUNY/CUNY A.A. or A.S. degree are guaranteed 60 transfer credits and junior standing. As part of the SUNY system, Fredonia requires all graduates to complete the SUNY general education requirements. Many of these can be completed prior to transferring.
A guide for transfer credit evaluation for many of the colleges from which we commonly receive transfer students is available at our Transfer Credit Information page.
Most transfer applicants are admitted to a specific major. With more than 45 credit hours, you must apply into a major. Students wishing to pursue a major in the Visual or Performing Arts may have additional audition or portfolio requirements. Please contact the department or Elizabeth Curtin-O’Brien with questions about major requirements.
