The Departments of History and Politics and International Affairs are pleased to present Mr. Andrew Zapfel, an international development professional working in the areas of health and human rights on Friday, March 6th from 12:00-1:00pm in the Williams Center G103B.
Originally a Political Science and African American Studies major at the University of Buffalo (Class of 2011), Mr. Zapfel currently works for Futures Group International, a global health consulting firm which works in close partnership with global and local leaders and communities to protect and promote people's health and well-being. Andrew has worked with several different organizations in different capacities including the Human Rights Campaign, United Nations Joint Programme on HIV/AIDS, the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Global Affairs, and World Vision International. Mr. Zapfel has extensive experience working in countries across the globe including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Ghana, Jamaica, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, South Africa, and the United States. He currently lives in Washington, D.C.
For students also interested in learning more about the paths to careers in public health, public policy, human rights advocacy, and international development and aid, Andrew will also include commentary about his career path in his presentation. There will be ample time for Q&A after his presentation. Bring your lunch!
