The Women’s and Gender Studies Program empowers students to explore gender in theoretical and practical ways. Topics of study include gender theory, feminism, diversity, equality, sexuality, identity, cultural practices, and transnational issues.

A degree in Women’s and Gender Studies fosters interdisciplinary knowledge and skills enabling students to work for social justice and global change. Students may pursue graduate programs or careers in nonprofit work, advocacy, social work, psychology, community development, business, law, politics, healthcare, journalism, government, and education.

Major-specific activities and student organizations and clubs provide venues to make connections and build strong networks. Depending on personal interests and career goals, students may join a variety of clubs such as V-Day at Fredonia, Women’s Student Union, Pride Alliance, Students Teaching Equals Positive Sexuality (STEPS). 

Networks continue to grow through digital groups, like ones on LinkedIn.
